چکیده
Assess the antibacterial, physical and chemical properties of AH Plus, BioRoot RCS Pulp Canal Sealer (PCS) in contact with 2% chlorhexidine digluconate (CHX) used as final irrigant prior to root canal obturation. The antimicrobial were investigated by direct tests for planktonic biofilm growth E. faecalis, S. mutans, S.epidermidis S.aureus vitro. setting time, wettability, microhardness surface roughness also assessed. sealers studied no contact, 1-minute (short-term) continuous (long-term) CHX. Chemical characterization was performed scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy after CHX or saline last an ex vivo tooth model endo training blocks. increased antibacterial activity all against bacteria biofilms PCS exerting highest without presence Plus retarded, while accelerated more hydrophilic CHX, whilst hydrophobic a time-dependent manner. compromised exposure RCS, decreased PCS. did not affect sealers’ chemistry, but that exhibited two extra phases. improved efficacy endodontic further evidence is needed confirm its suitability

Antimicrobial efficacy of the combination of chlorhexidine digluconate and dexpanthenol
Objective: The objective of this standardised experimental study was to investigate the antimicrobial efficacy of the combination of chlorhexidine digluconate (CHX) and the anti-inflammatory pro-vitamin dexpanthenol, which stimulates wound-healing, in the form of Bepanthen® Antiseptic Wound Cream, in order to rule out possible antagonistic combination effects of CHX and the alcohol analogue of ...

OBJECTIVE To assess the setting time (ST), flow (FL), radiopacity (RD), solubility (SB) and dimensional change following setting (DC) of different sealers (AH Plus®, Polifil, Apexit Plus®, Sealapex®, Endométhasone® and Endofill®) according to American National Standards Institute/American Dental Association (ANSI/ADA) Specification 57. MATERIAL AND METHODS Five samples of each material were u...
متن کاملSynergistic Antimicrobial Action of Chlorhexidine and Ozone in Endodontic Treatment
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to determine whether irrigation with sodium hypochlorite, chlorhexidine, and ozone gas, alone or in combination, were effective against Enterococcus faecalis and Candida albicans; these are microorganisms frequently isolated from teeth with periapical lesions resistant to endodontic treatment. MATERIAL AND METHODS 220 single root teeth, recently extracted,...
متن کاملAntimicrobial activity of three different endodontic sealers on the enterococcus faecalis and lactobacillus (in vitro)
Introduction: Growth and proliferation of the remaining microorganisms within the root canals may destroy the surrounding tissue of the root and leads to periapical lesion. Consequently, the complete elimination of microorganisms from the root canal is a n important goal of endodontic therapy. Endodontic sealers do not provide complete seal in root canal system, and micro spaces have always rem...
